Resolution 62/26 (South Sudan) A/HRC/RES/62/26

On 7 July the UN Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 62/26 on technical assistance and capacity-building for South Sudan. In the resolution, the Council requests the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, in cooperation and collaboration with the government of South Sudan and relevant mechanisms of the African Union, to enhance the technical assistance provided to the government of South Sudan to continue to assist it in addressing human rights challenges in the post-conflict transition. The resolution also recalls that the Government of South Sudan has the primary responsibility to protect the population…”
