Resolution 7/25 (Prevention of Genocide) A/HRC/RES/7/25

On 28 February 2008 the UN Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 7/25 on the prevention of genocide. Resolution 7/25 calls upon states who had not yet ratified or acceded to the Genocide Convention to do so. The resolution also calls upon states to cooperate in strengthening existing mechanisms that contribute to early detection of human rights violations that could lead to genocide and reiterates the responsibility of each state to protect its population from genocide through necessary means.
