Resolution 39/20 (DRC) A/HRC/RES/39/20

On 28 September the UN Human Rights Council passed Resolution 39/20 on technical assistance and capacity-building in the field of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The resolution requested the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare a report on the situation of human rights in the DRC before, during and after the elections of 23 December 2018. The resolution also recalled that “the primary responsibility to protect all civilians within its territory lies with the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.”
