During every regular session the Human Rights Council passes a resolution on the human rights situation in Syria. On 29 September 2017 the Human Rights Council adopted a resolution demanding that the Syrian authorities cooperate fully with the Human Rights Council and the Commission of Inquiry by granting it immediate, full and unfettered access throughout the country; demanding that the Syrian authorities facilitate, and all other parties to the conflict do not hinder, the full, immediate and safe access of the UN and humanitarian actors; and demanding that the Syrian authorities meet their responsibility to protect the Syrian population.
