Resolution 30/10 (Syria) A/HRC/RES/30/10

1 October 2015

On 1 October 2015 the UN Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 30/10 on the situation in Syria. The resolution condemns the gross human rights abuses being committed by the government of Syria and demands that the Syrian authorities meet their responsibility to protect the Syrian population. Additionally the resolution “demands that all parties take all appropriate steps to protect civilians, including members of ethnic, religious and confessional communities,” and stresses that, in this regard, the “primary responsibility to protect the Syrian population lies with the Syrian authorities.”
