Resolution 2605 (Central African Republic) S/RES/2605

On 12 November 2021 the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2605 on the situation in the Central African Republic (CAR). Resolution 2605 extends the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in CAR (MINUSCA) until 15 November 2022, with a mandate that prioritizes the protection of civilians. The resolution also recalls “that the CAR authorities have the primary responsibility to protect all populations in the CAR in particular from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.”
