Resolution 2277 (DRC) S/RES/2277

30 March 2016

On 30 March 2016 the UN Security Council passed Resolution 2777 on the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Resolution 2277 recalls “that the Government of the DRC bears the primary responsibility to protect civilians within its territory and subject to its jurisdiction, including protection from crimes against humanity and war crimes,” and urges the government to hold accountable all those who have perpetrated war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide.
