Resolution 2217 (Central African Republic) S/RES/2217

28 April 2015

On 28 April 2015 the UN Security Council passed Resolution 2217 on the situation in the Central African Republic (CAR). Resolution 2217 recalls the CAR authorities’ primary responsibility to protect all populations from genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing. Additionally the resolution extends the mandate of the UN Peacekeeping Mission in CAR (MINUSCA) to 20 April 2016.
