Resolution 2085 (Mali) S/RES/2085

20 December 2012

On 20 December 2012 the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2085 on the situation in Mali. Resolution 2085 authorizes an African-led support mission in order “to support the Malian authorities in their primary responsibility to protect the population” and emphasizes the Malian authorities’ “primary responsibility to protect civilians.”
