Framework of Analysis for Atrocity Crimes: A tool for prevention

30 October 2014

During October 2014 the UN Office of the Special Advisers on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect released the Framework of Analysis for Atrocity Crimes. The Framework provides a comprehensive list of risk indicators to better help the international community act early- to prevent atrocities. The Framework is broken down into two sets of risk factors: common risk factors that address concerns more broadly and specific risk factors which detail indicators specific to genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
