Resolution 2399 (Central African Republic) S/RES/2399

On 30 January the UN Security Council passed Resolution 2399 on the Central African Republic (CAR). The resolution renews the arms embargo on CAR until 31 January 2019. The resolution also renews the travel ban and asset freezes of designated individuals who are party to the conflict in CAR through 31 January 2019. Resolution 2399 also recalls that “the CAR bears the primary responsibility to protect all populations within its territory from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.”
