On 13 November 2025 the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2800 on the situation in the Central African Republic (CAR). Resolution 2800 extends the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in CAR (MINUSCA) until 15 November 2026, with a mandate that prioritizes the protection of civilians. The resolution also recalls “that the CAR Government has the primary responsibility to protect all populations in the CAR, including from international crimes.”
