Resolution 2262 (Central African Republic) S/RES/2262

27 January 2016

On 27 January 2016 the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2262 on the Central African Republic (CAR). Resolution 2262 recalls the government of  CAR bears the primary responsibility to protect all populations. Resolution 2262 also condemns the recent upsurge in violence throughout the country. Finally the resolution extends the arms embargo, travel ban and asset freeze until 31 January 2017.
