On 10 November 2020 Global Centre Program Manager, Nadira Kourt, delivered remarks on a panel entitled, “Kill All You See: The First Anniversary of the ICJ case on the Rohingya Genocide.” Her remarks focused on the response of the UN system, including in the UN Security Council, General Assembly and Human Rights Council to the genocide of the Rohingya in Myanmar (Burma) in 2017. She also highlighted the issues with the private nature of the reports and hearings in the case and called for those reports to be made public. Ms. Kourt lastly focused on the need for action now to assist the Rohingya people, while following through with this long-term attempt for accountability.
