Joint NGO Statement: Uniting For Peace In Syria

1 December 2016

On 1 December the Global Centre joined 222 civil society organizations from 5 continents and 45 countries signed a declaration calling upon the UN General Assembly to take urgent and meaningful action to stop atrocities and protect civilians in Syria. The global civil society appeal, which asserted that the UN Security Council has “failed to uphold its responsibility to protect the Syrian people,” demands an end to unlawful attacks, immediate and unhindered humanitarian access and accountability for perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
