On 26 April Global Centre Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Savita Pawnday, delivered remarks at an event commemorating 106 years since the Armenian Genocide entitled “From Emergency Relief to Humanitarian Multilateralism: The Legacy of Near East Philanthropy in the Age of Genocide.” At the event, hosted by the Armenian Mission to the United Nations, Ms. Pawnday focused her remarks on the lessons learned from historic humanitarianism and how now, more than ever, the international community must uphold its responsibility to protect.
