Resolution 2584 (Mali) S/RES/2584

On 28 June 2021 the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2584 on the situation in Mali. Resolution 2584 extends the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) until 30 June 2022, and tasks the MINUSMA with supporting the country’s political transition ahead of elections to be held on 27 February 2022. Resolution 2584 also reiterates that the “Malian authorities have primary responsibility to protect civilians in Mali.”
