Resolution
On 22 December 2020 the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2559 on the situation in Sudan. The resolution terminates the mandate of the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and requests the UNS Secretary-General order the drawdown of the mission. The resolution also reaffirms “the primary responsibility of the Government of Sudan to protect civilians across its territory.”
