Resolution 2209 (Syria) S/RES/2209

On 6 March 2015 the UNSC adopted Resolution 2209, condemning the use of toxic chemicals, such as chlorine, as a weapon in Syria, and reiterating its decision under Resolution 2118 that Syria must not use or develop chemical weapons. The UNSC stressed that individuals responsible for the use of chemical weapons must be held accountable and, recalling Resolution 2118, decides to impose measures under Chapter VII in the event of future non-compliance.
