Resolution 2150 (Prevention of Genocide) S/RES/2150

Unanimously adopting resolution 2150, the UN Security Council called upon States to recommit to prevent and fight against genocide and other serious crimes under international law. Through the resolution, the Council also called upon States that had not yet ratified or acceded to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide to consider doing so as a matter of high priority. The resolution also "calls upon states to reaffirm paragraphs 138 and 139 of the World Summit Outcome Document on the responsibility to protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity."
