Resolution 2098 (DRC) S/RES/2098

Resolution 2098 was adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 28 March 2013 regarding the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Resolution 2098 created a new mandate for the stabilization force in the DRC (MONUSCO) which included an "intervention brigade" tasked with carrying out "targeted offensive operations" to neutralize armed groups with the intent of preventing violence against civilians and protecting civilians under imminent threat.
