Resolution 2046 (Sudan) S/RES/2046

UNSC condemns the cross-border violence, the seizure and occupation of Heglig, support to proxy forces, and SAF aerial bombardments. Condemns all acts of violence against civilians which violate international humanitarian law and human rights law. Endorses the AU Roadmap and calls for: an end to all hostilities within 48 hours; the unconditional withdrawal of all formed forces; the activation of the JBVMM; an end to the harbouring or support to rebel groups; activation of the JPSM; protection for citizens in the other's territory and an end to inflammatory rhetoric; a resolution to the Abyei situation; negotiations on all other outstanding issues, under the auspices of the AUHIP, to be concluded within 3 months. In the event of non-compliance by Sudan, South Sudan or the SPLM-N the Security Council will take appropriate additional measures under Article 41 of the Charter as necessary.
