The human rights situation in the Syrian Arab Republic A/HRC/RES/34/26

On 20 March 2017 the UN Human Rights Council passed Resolution 34/26 on the human rights situation in the Syrian Arab Republic. The resolution demanded that the Syrian authorities meet their responsibility to protect the Syrian population and that all parties to the conflict take appropriate steps to protect civilians, including members of ethnic, religious and confessional communities, with the primary responsibility to protect these populations lying with the Syrian authorities.
