Situation of human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea A/RES/71/202

On 19 December 2016 the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution by consensus (without a vote) condemning the systematic, widespread and gross violations of human rights in the DPRK, including those that amount to crimes against humanity; encouraging the UN Security Council to refer the situation to the International Criminal Court; and recalling that the DPRK government bears the responsibility to protect its population.
