This Open Statement from the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect addresses atrocities committed by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Sudanese People's Liberation Army North (SPLA-N) against civilian populations in the South Kordofan region of Sudan. The conflict started on 5 July 2011 between the SAF and SPLA-N and resulted in indiscriminate bombings of civilian areas. The Open Statement urges UN Security Council and African Union action to halt the atrocities.
